THE FADAK SERMON – PART 12

90-Then, she turned towards the grave of her father, choked with tears, and said:

91- After your departure, significant events and complicated circumstances unfolded, such that if you had been witness to them, the calamity for us would not have been so great.

92- We have lost you like the loss of the earth and its rain, Your people have deviated, so bear witness to them and do not be absent

93- And every people possesses a closeness and status with the Divine, maintaining a distinct position within their own community

94- At the time when you departed, and the dust became a barrier between us and you, people revealed the rancor in their hearts towards us

95- Men scowled at us and treated us with disdain, When you were vanished, and the entire land was seized

96- Soon, those who perpetrated oppression upon our family will come to know where they are turning back to on the Day of Resurrection

97- You were the complete moon and a radiance cast upon the world, and it was upon you that the scriptures descended from the Mighty Lord

98- And Gabriel used to comfort us with verses, But now, you are departed, and every goodness is concealed

99- The cities have become narrow for me despite their vastness, and the shining sun of the faces of your two grandsons [Hasan and Husayn] has dimmed in your absence, leading me to hardship and sorrow.

100- If only, before you, death had embraced us; at that moment when you left, and mounds of dust created a distance between us

101- We are afflicted with a calamity, the loss of a dear one, a grief that has befallen no one, whether Arab or non-Arab, as losing such a dear one.

102- So, as long as we live in this world and as long as our eyes remain, we will weep for you with tears in our eyes

103- And she concluded this by saying,

104- As long as you were alive, I had a supporter, and I moved about with ease. With you as my wings, you were my companion.

105- Today, I am compelled to submit before a tyrant, distancing myself from him, and with my own hands, I repel the oppressor.

106- And if a pigeon cries out in grief, At night on a branch, I am crying in the morning

This endeavor seeks to encapsulate the profound concepts within Lady Fatima’s May Allah hasten His reappearance poem as she turned toward her father’s grave, shaping it into poetic form. Preserving the intricacies of its meaning proves challenging in translation, especially when crafting it into a poem. Your suggestions are welcome to refine this translation, aiming to convey the essence as authentically as possible.

Then, she May Allah hasten His reappearance turned towards the grave of her father, choked with tears, and said:

In the wake of your departure, unfolding tales unfold,

Had you witnessed, our plight might have been controlled.

We’ve lost you, like earth missing its rain,

Your people have strayed, witness, do not abstain.

Each community has closeness with the Divine,

A unique place in their own, a sacred design.

Men bared their souls, revealing hearts’ deep strife,

As you departed, dust emerged, a barrier, rife.

Men scowled at us with disdainful might,

When you vanished, and the land faced a usurper’s blight.

Soon, the unjust will fathom our family’s plight,

On Judgment Day, realizing where they turn back in fright.

You were the radiant moon, a light to guide,

From the Mighty Lord, scriptures in you reside.

Gabriel consoled us with verses divine,

Now, with your departure, goodness no longer shines.

Despite their vastness, cities narrow in my sight,

Your grandsons’ shining faces dimmed, in absence’s blight.

If only, before you, death had embraced our fate,

When you departed, and dust built a distant gate.

In sorrow’s grip, a loss, a unique plight,

A grief unmatched, be it Arab or non-Arab’s night.

So, as long as life endures and eyes retain,

We’ll weep for you, with tears, in sorrow’s domain.

And she concluded this by saying,

You were my pillar, my wings to soar,

A steadfast support, as days unfolded more

Today, to the low, I bow, yet stay aloof,

With my own hands, I fend off the oppressor’s proof.

When a moonlit dove mourns in the night’s hush,

On a branch, I weep with the morning’s blush.
