One of the most important times of the year for Shia Muslims is the 15th of Shaban, which marks the birth anniversary of the 12th Imam, Imam Mahdi (Peace be upon Him).

The Imam went into occultation twice, the second time being in 941 at the age of 71. His reappearance will come at a time when he will bring justice to the world to end oppression and inequality.

In fact, mid-Shaban holds special significance for Muslims throughout the world. Keeping up with the tradition, members of Sileh for Imam Mahdi (Peace be upon Him) are currently involved in the organisation of an event in Markfield, UK.
